Getting to the Villa
Alonissos doesn’t have it’s own airport – enabling the islanders to retain much of their traditional Greek character and charm without the influence of mass tourism. So the last part of your journey to Alonissos will be by ferry.
Please note that island hopping is a national sport enjoyed at leisure – so be prepared for a sauntering jaunt between islands with scant regard for the published timetable. You’ll get there…but in their own time not yours.
However the journey is worth it and if you time your ferry constructively, the transfer trip between islands can be wonderfully entertaining too.
Most people take a regular direct flight to nearby Skiathos, then it’s a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport to the ferry port where you can catch one of the numerous ferries (2 hours transfer time), Flying Dolphin or Cat hydrofoils (1.5 hours transfer time) taking you to Alonissos’ harbour town of Patitiri where you will be met by our representative.
Alternatively, you can fly to Athens and get a taxi to the port of Agios Konstantinos from which you can catch a ferry to Skopelos, change ferries and travel on to the Alonissos harbour town of Patitiri. (Total transfer time approx 3.5 hours)
Don’t forget! You’ll need to confirm your return flights 48 hours before you leave
And please make allowance for transfer times back from the island to the airport. It’s a good idea to book a taxi from the ferryport to the airport in advance, so it's there to meet you.
